Vintage Strat

Our ECS-60 pickup features a late 50's / early 60's wind pattern. Made just like the originals. Features include vintage style cloth covered hook up wire, american made hand beveled .196 diameter alnico V magnets with vintage stagger, 42 gauge heavy formvar magnet wire, lacquer dipped forbon bobbins ( top and bottom are black ). Pickups are wax potted just like the originals. Available as singles, or in calibrated sets. These pickups produce that classic fat 3 dimensional strat tone with smooth round highs and thunderous bottom. DC Resistance - 6k - 6.4k Covers and mounting hardware included.

Our ECS-65 is a faithful recreation of a mid 60's strat pickup, from the light grey bottom bobbin, right down to the 42 gauge plain enamel magnet wire. Features american made hand beveled .188 Diameter alnico V magnets with proper vintage stagger, vintage style cloth covered hook up wire, and lacquer dipped forbon bobbins. This pickup produces a piano like tone like the mid 60's strats were known for. If you are looking for the early Hendrix sound, then this is the pickup for you. I've found some original pickups from this era wax potted, and some laquer potted. Wax potting is standard, but we can nitro laquer pot upon request.

My Strat style pickups are wound with true vintage tone in mind. These pickups are modeled after pickups from vintage guitars. They are not created from specs found on the internet, which I have found many to be misleading. I know this because I own vintage strats and have been inside more vintage Strats than I can remember. For this reason I've kept detailed logs on every aspect of the pickups in these guitars, from the magnet diameters and lengths, right down to the actual wire diameter and insulation . No stone was left unturned. I chose the 1960 and 1965 Strats because they were the most fantastic sounding examples to represent the black bottom and grey bottom era of pickups.
